Kind Bees Make Great Garden
Mates Back in late June we received a very exciting package from the folks at Kind Bee Farms (https://kindbeefarms.com/). In it was one of their Bee Homes along with a package of cocoons and nesting tubes. To say the least, we were very excited and promptly installed in in our garden. The cocoons are those of Leafcutter Bees (Megachile rotundata). These are small, non- aggressive bees that happen to be great pollinators. The cocoons hatched in a couple of weeks and the bees have been busy coming and going (and visiting the garden), and laying eggs in the tubes to produce more bees. They have been really enjoyable, and a little relaxing, to watch.
80% of plants require some animal to help them pollinate so you can imagine how important adding these bees to any garden can be to creating fruits and vegetables. As they saying goes, no pollinators, no food. If you have a garden, or just want to give nature a hand, the Kind Bee Farms bee houses are and easy and fun way to do so.
As you may have seen in one of our videos, our garden is thriving. We’d like to take most of the credit for this, but we are willing to give some to our new buzzing friends. Enjoy this video about our Kind Bee Farms bee house:
