If you are like me, you probably have seen 1,000 advertisements for the sill.com. I recently moved to a new apartment and decided this would be the perfect time to test out the site. I decided to be adventurous and order the Plant Parent Set. The Plant Parent Set allows aspiring plant parents (for those who want a lot of plants cheap) to order either 3, 5, or 7 low-maintenance plants. You do not pick which plants you receive. Here is my honest review of how ordering plants online from The Sill went.
Price Of Plants on The Sill
Plants on thesill.com start at only $14. Prices go up based on the size of the plant and the type of planter. The Plant Parent set allowed me to receive five plants for only $60. Since it was my first order I received a 10% coupon so I only paid $54.
The Good On Ordering Plants From The Sill
Four out of Five Plants arrived within a week. All plants came individually wrapped with wood shavings to help protect the soil. Each plant came in great condition and I was very impressed. In addition to the plant, each plant came with a care card that had information on the plant, watering schedule, and Sad Plant signs.
The Not So Good On Ordering Plants From The Sill
As I mentioned earlier, only four out of five plants arrived in the first package. They did mention, that one plant maybe shipped separately due to plants being held at different locations. A week went by and I had yet to receive the plant so I emailed them. Three emails later, I had yet to receive a message back. Finally I tried the chat box on the website and was finally able to get my fifth plant. A week later, after few angry emails, I finally received my fifth plant.
Would I order again?
Yes, the ease of ordering as well as the quickness of receiving my plants I would order again. I love the Plant Parent cards. If a plant does arrive damage, they will replace the plant for free. I have had my plants for a month (minus the fifth plant) and all plants are currently thriving in its new home.
