    A gnarly, multi-stemmed broadleaf evergreen shrub, Kalmia latifolia features clusters of cup-shaped small white to rose flowers with purple markings in late spring. If not deadheaded, flowers are followed by brown fruits. Elliptic, glossy evergreen leaves are dark green on top and yellow underneath. Deer and rabbit tolerate.
