A native plant to the Southeastern United States, Ilex vomitoria, is a broadleaf evergreen shrub with elliptic-oblong, glossy leaves. Female plants have fragrant flowers in April that give way to showy red berries. Dioecious, make sure to plant both male and female plants close together in order for females to bear fruits.
