A spreading, multi-stemmed deciduous small tree, Cornus officinalis features small yellow flowers that appear in the early spring. Flowers give way to oblong red fruits in the fall. Ovate to elliptic dark green leaves turn to attract shades of pale yellow to purplish-red in the fall.
